According to my records IMO 8813051 changed its name directly from ‘Teal’ to ‘River Trader’ in June 2009. Prior to that, in 2005 it changed from ‘Hoo Beach’ to ‘Teal’. At no time since 2005 has it ever been named ‘Perseas’.
In ‘Vessel Search’ for “8813051” two results are returned, one for ‘River Trader’ and one for ‘Perseas’
The detail page for ‘Perseas’ has one picture taken by myself; the identical picture is shown on the detail page for ‘River Trader’. I do not believe that I ever attached that image to ‘Perseas’ and can only assume that this has happened due to your working on the database.
Are you wanting other errors to be highlighted at this time or not?
Ian, I would be glad to read your foundings here, since we are just working on the newly released "history" feature. You already found out about the matching of IMO, MMSI and callsign info for building up history info. There are other values taken in account to. We are trying to find an automatic match algorythm.
The qualitiy of the results could be prooved by the members, we then could introduce some way of manual corrections.

Vessel Search for IMO 9357523 ‘OCEAN MERMAID’ has two results: -
1) MMSI 477111600 Callsign VREI2 with 2 pictures in “Vessel Images” and none in “Vessel History”
2) MMSI 636091864 Callsign A8TY2 with no pictures in “Vessel Images” and one in “Vessel History”
Photo 44029.150x113.jpg was taken on 18-Feb-09 when the vessel was registered in Hong Kong and owned by ‘White Daisy Shipping S.A.’
In Sep 2009 the vessel was sold to ‘Torres Strait Shipping Company Ltd.’ and registered in Monrovia. 67252.Photo 150x113.jpg was taken on 10-Feb-10.
Good luck with trying to find an automatic match algorithm. If this becomes to difficult, would it be possible to create a form so members could copy and past “Image Link” or “Image Location” with a brief note, not only relating to “Vessel History” but also where an image is attached to the wrong vessel or even to highlight copyright abuse. This could then be available for Administrators to correct manually.
