Vessel Detail Errors (10 posts)

  1. @admin
    Vessel Name: YANTLET
MMSI No:232004583 (Confirmed in the field by my mobile AIS)
    Nature of problem:
The vessel is a ligitimate target,it is a work vessel managed by The Port of London Authority.
When you open its page it appears to have an IMO No 1
It also appears to have had 30 previous identities

When I attempt to upload an image the image upoader will allow me to select an image and the save button goes green however it then tells me that a vessel with the name YANTLET and an IMO No 1 does not exist. If I then delete the IMO No1 the uploader allows me to select an image but the save button does not go green.

I realise that the Vessel Detail page is generated automaticaly but there appears to be an error somewhere that is blocking the image upload.
Could you investigate the problem so that I can give the vessel a 'face'

    Regards

  2. @Rob, Have you looked in 'My Images'? Your picture could be there, if it is attach it to the vessel.

  5. @Ian.Ihave already tried 8 or 10 times both as rob1053 and rob1053mobile,I have shut down, restarted, closed down background programs, shut down the AIS direct upload,I even tried uploading another oddity to see if that would load-the Dover AIS station- and it did but nothing will allow me to upload poor old Yantlet's image!

  7. @Rob: but you know, that you can always upload any vessel image first with the ImageManager and then attach it later on to the right vessel-corpus (searching for IMO, MMSI or callsign) ?
Are you trying the TinyImageUploader only? There are quiet some vessels in the DB wiht IMO=1, the tinyuploader still has a problem with those entries.
Go to http://www.digital-seas.com/open_space/my_digital_seas/my_images.html , upload your image (green button = add image) and I could help to attach it right....

  9. By entering any random number in the IMO field can only store up problems for the future. May I suggest that the field can be made to accept ‘NOT KNOWN’ and only this is used. If this is not possible then ‘0000000’ should be entered.

  10. Ian has good idea there.
In the case of Yantlet I suspect that the Imo no of 1 was generated by the ship ais system,I believe I can recall seeing 1 in the IMO field on the AIS info at the time, its the old rubbish in rubbish out senario.
I know data is frequently incorrectly entered as you often hear Dover Coastguard querying a name,IMO No or status with comercial vessels.
