New database is good news but I have some problems today. I just oploaded 8 vessels and none of them are in database.
I just uploaded picture of Sigas Laura and I see vessel in database but when I use mmsi to assign picture, I receive no vessels in database.

Thanks Stevo, just tried the ImageManager myself, the combined search in there seems to be broken. We will fix it asap. Just wait for my next ping with the assignment.
Search inside ImageManager is functional again.
Roubini K with IMO 9397200 and MMSI 256978000 is not in the database
GEJA C with IMO 9258222 and MMSI 235006360 is not in the database.
Miraflores, you're sure that AIS signal picked up signal of these 2 vessels?
I have also 70 vessel who aren't in database just because they have no AIS or aren't in coverage.
@stevo
I've uploaded more than 2000 fotos, must of the ships are not in the AIS coverage.
I think this is not the problem.
There must be a possibility to fill in the ships datas manually.
I think that is the next step. But do you let everybody to edit info or not??
A lot of new vessels on this website http://www.digital-seas.com/open_space/overview.html
Only problem is that they have no name.
yes the new-Vessel-list on the Open-Space page is another candidate for fixing, the name field is empty for now, thanks Stevo.
We do have a plan for adding vessel infos for all members, so they could add various entries to the vessel. We will leave it to the users, to compare the correctness of the data. We do not really want to create master-users, only allowed to edit data.
This step will open also the door, to add vessels not yet tracked in the AIS database.
So it has to be solved on an individual level, but clearly pointing out the source and date of entry in the interface.
I can send you a copy of my database. I have on my website the vessels name, imo and mmsi. Maybe you can use that info.
Don't know if this have to do anything with new database but it's a porblem you had also in the past.
I use Mozilla Firefox and see a screenshot with marks of ports.
No this has nothing to do with the DB, it's a Fleetmon feature.
I have never seen them that large :-) To switch the display of the port-marks off, use the dropdown above the vessel list. Select "ports" and switch of the select-field on the right labeled "show". This setting will be stored in your pc profile until you change it again.

Hello
To your question I comment to you that the same thing happens to my me, they will have to update the database, try to put all the updates possibly of Database - WORLD SHIPPING REGISTER to be able to raise the captures without problems and this way be able to enjoy the wonderful photos that lately are rising.
Javier's regards
I have a problem with new database.
http://www.digital-seas.com/my_digital_seas/my_ships.html
You can see in my list some code (instead of vesselname) but no vessels or pictures attached.
The same thing happens to my me before when it(he,she) raised a photo it(he,she) was leaving myself to see that tape-worm of the same nose, for if it(he,she) wanted to eliminate someone, but now I cannot even
Regards Javier
When I move of Spanish correct Englishman but when I it spend(pass) other one see Spanish it(he,she) is of laugh
So I am going to write the minimal thing, for which if not the people are peeled of laugh I Greet Javier
@Stevo: Big grin, sometimes I have to operate the living patient. If you are getting in my way at that time (by simply accessing the site), the blood will spread in your face.
(I am kind a dramatic this night, since my holidays are starting tommorrow and there is much work left...).
One day, when the moneywave reached us (or LoydsFairplay bought us), we will develop on a seperate server. Until then we will use late night hours, (when Stevo is around:-)
Have a nice holiday ;-)
Will keep my mouth shut
And start talking again today.
I noticed that some vessels already changed name with this new database.
Why don't we keep the old name as a vessel so people can put their pictures with the old name OR if that isn't possible, why don't you put old name in vesseldetails??
I re-uploaded all my pictures and I noticed 4+ vessels already working under new name (flag,..)
@stevo: your once attached images (to a ship body) should not get lost. They will also be shown at the renamed (reflagged, lenghten ...somehow changed AIS signal) vessel.
You are right we should show the ships history right on the detail page (think, it has been there before :-) The search will give you at least all versions, we tracked the vessel before.
When I search with imo 9311385, I receive 2 vessels Sepen - Brovig Mistral
When I search with imo 9421623, I receive 2 vessels Vedrey Heimer - Albertus F
When I search with mmsi 236331000, I receive 2 vessels Vedrey Heimer - Brovig Mistral
I was told that imo and mssi never change from a vessel and you can never have 2 times the same number. Only name and flag can change.
yep, that is theory so far. in reality you are confronted with misstyped numbers,
missing numbers and changing numbers.
depending on the accuracy of technicians and crew members and the timeslot they adopt to changes, you will recieve all kinds of stati for AIS signals.
Most common, and in your case, is simply the change of ownership. In the search list, we will show all appearences of this particular vessel-body, so people are able to compare.
the images are the only "real" clue to connect history data, since there is only a theoretical "live time" IMO. We do reflect this by showing all connected images on the detail page.
for instance the Brovig Mistral is now LS Anne and only Ians image is connecting this history info, because more then three paras in the AIS signal changed.
http://www.digital-seas.com/vessel_search/vessel_details/on/zdhk9_brovig_mistral_q29767.html
http://www.digital-seas.com/vessel_search/vessel_details/on/ls%20anne_q47376.html
We developed many algorythms to cope with the situation. If more then three parameters change over time (MMSI, IMO, NAME, LENGTH for expl.), we will create a new body.
As long as we only rely on AIS signals to fill up the database thats a good way.
This year we will extend the database with static vessel data from other references and will allow user corrections.
You can trust the database, but sometimes you have to look around a bit, there are probably chances to improve the views...
@ MindOpen
Of all that is being written in this forum, which by the way I always visit, and if something is shared, ideas are understood, what I like most is what was written by Lars, is that they update the database, is great news, because if so I will rise stomatal many ships to my page.
Thanks.
Javier
@Stevo,
you are not correct. The IMO of a shipü will never change, the MMSI always changes with the flag. The first 3 numbers show you the country.
http://www.gmdss.com.au/mids.htm
For example:
Germany starts with 211 and 218
Denmark starts with 219 and 220
Belgium starts with 205
etc.
Hey miraflores, thx for the info.
