How difficult would it be to put a Chatroom in here ? Might be good for talking to Members online. Just an Idea.
The short answer to your question is: no it is not to difficult, but we try to keep this place as easy for users as possible.
It would be definitely a faster way to communicate, then typing into a forum. But to get it right, you would have to join the place, have groups, private conversations, logs etc. Which makes the app rather complicated and it is all the stuff we get today via skype, aim or trillian.
Do you have any experiences with a public chat for spotters? What do you expect from it ?
Well for Spotters i dont have experience so far, maybe it would be then to keep it simple maybe combine or post, if users want, the skype names of registered users here. Just an Idea.I think some Users might find it helpful to get in immediate contact with a logged inUsers. or something equal like in other php forums, send Personal Message ....?
I guess, we will create the "send personal message" function soon. This would be an easy way to get in contact directly. Then users could decide themself to exchange contact-data etc. We just try to not build another Xing with DS, it is already complicated enough to use all the functionality here. We are good in real time monitoring.... :-)
You are right i agree totally and i appreciate DS so much as a Service Technician for Ships Electronic on the Bridge, it is a great help for me, to check if the Ships which i have to visit, are really where they were assigned for me :-)
sometimes even the Agents dont know where and when they come lol. so i check out here !
