@Ian: yes I agree, private messaging would be a nice thing to have.
We take privacy very serious and to integrate this feauture in our existing system (it is not a community software), it will need time and effort (opt in out, blacklists, friends, adressbooks etc). Maybe we will start with something simple?
Until this is done, just put me in the middle and ask via mail, I will connect you guys in a second (hoho). To be honest, I would love to see DS having better communication tools, but right now we have to set prios or change the bmodel...

Hi @ piosta
You may want to put a link to the page that takes the photo I do not know if it's mine or someone else, if this allowed or not, greetings

I need to contact a member to let him know his picture was published somewhere without providing information on source and Author.

I agree with the comment Javier. I do not see much problem on the comments in image details ... It only serves to say "this is wrong imo", "is stolen", "this photo is only the bow or stern"? Ultimately only to critique the photos you do not like? Not be better to encourage good fellowship among all, if you like a photo comment on whether it is German, French, Italian, etc ... I is what I do, if I like the picture I will comment. I think we are confusing things and should not be so. We share photos, a hobby and we should not enter into such polemics. Greetings.

Hi, IanJohn, in private if that is what is shared with everyone, you have to try hard to congratulate issues in private? that that interest you so you can comment on the photo? I have all the addresses of my friends, and if I have to discuss anything privately then use the mail, but to congratulate if the shot is nice, I do not have to use private mail, then that serves the comment box Image Details? As you all, and compatriots coming to that comment, that that will like you no one congratulates you? believe that it is unnecessary comments, or think, that people do have concerns to share, I've been shipspotting few years, I found that I am finding problems here, here ved to give bad advice is given answers, and another thing is that you must be careful about is thinking about the consequences before writing a comment, people around here are not stupid, and they may misinterpret the comments, with or without tradudtor, now called Hi MindOpen Lars, if you have lend a hand, leg bone that bad as down.

@MindOpen Hi Lars, I also think it could be a good Idea if a system could be devised for members to be able to contact each other in private. CX9AAW and his friends could use it, There are occasions when I feel I would like to pass advice on to some members on how to improve their pictures by straightening, croping, etc. It would also alow members to inform an uploader if they thought a picture was attached to the wrong vessel. However I can see how receiving lots of e-mails could be anoying to some and that some some members could abuse the facility by sending spam. Regards, Ian

Peter, if the site managers would respond to your query, it might alleviate the flame war that's currently underway in the "Language" topic.
