I am very dissapointed with absent of ships in my home port - Riga, Latvia. What is a reason? I hope it will be solved in near future.

Today I used my iPhone in a port I don't know as good as my homeport.
I had to visit a vessel and I missed something on the fleetmon app.

I used search to see where the vessel was moored (map) but I missed the possibility to see my position in that same map. So I didn't know if I was far from the vessel or not. Is it maybe possible to include this also if you search a vessel who is less then 5 km from your position?? Maybe for the latest 3GS iphones the possibility to use GPS from your position to the ship??

Hi,

Having downloaded and registered this Christmas Day, is there a way that your location can be entered and saved without going to the map each time and "zooming" to your required location, ie Channel Islands or Le Harve etc.

Many thanks for a excellent app and have a Good Christmas,

Several problems here in NY harbor with this app. First of all, for no apparent reason, the app crashes from time to time - maybe once every 15 times it is run. No rhyme or reason that I can figure out. But far more important, a typical number of vessels here reporting in the last 30 mins ranges from low to upper 100's. 150 is a very typical figure. Sometimes I log on a get less than 10, refresh and get zero! Move to another region and get nothing - not the fault of the source data feed.

This app costs $25 and I expect it to be better than one that cost $5, but I am not convinced and I'm a bit upset. The frequency of ship updates sometimes runs 20-30 mins - the data seems to be very similar to another iphone app - Ship Finder - and it costs $5. And it is NOT the fact that the vessel is not reporting. I have compared many to marinetraffic.com, a free web site, and the same vessel is reporting continuously. The result is that the sessel is 8 miles further than shown on your app. "Real time" means now, not 25 mins ago.

I don't know exactly how feeds are distributed and who pays for what, if anything. My guess is that the feed that is used by marinetraffic.com is based on a system here in NY that is scanning every minute or so and forwarding that data. On the other hand, the one that you use and a similar (or identical) one used by Ship Finder seem to scan and report FAR less frequently.

If that other feed could be utilized, we'd be right on the money. Comments??

Just purchased the iphone app--far away the most expensive I've ever purchased. Watched the demo and trailer online. Website shows coverage for port of New York. Lots of vessels on the online display but iphone shows only a fraction of those vessels. Why?? Right now this app is of no value unless there is something I am doing wrong. Please advise.

Being in London, i wish to view all vessels near Spanish Atlantic - Fleetmon takes me automatically to London on the map (that's OK). I then navigate to desired location in Spain and press the refresh button. The problem is that not all vessels appear; If I navigate slightly away from my original location and press again, sometimes I get other ships (with the ones viewed originally disappearing) or I get nothing. Zooming out of the map and Refreshing sometimes shows more ships but again navigating slightly away (maybe 1-2cm on the map) and refreshing shows either nothing, or a couple of different ships -

The question is, how can I see ALL of the vessels in my desired area + some radius, without having to click around and hit refresh all the time?

Many thanks!
