Hi @reimannmueller
The indian ocean is not covered with AIS, so the next station will be Singapore where the ship will arrive tomorrow.

Vom Suez-Kanal bis Malakka Strasse gibt es keinen AIS Empfang, erst wieder in Singapur, wo das Schiff morgen erwartet wird.

the vessel was expected in GWANGYANG/KOREA on July 18

Hello Smutje
Well thanks for your kind words, and I am grateful, I hope to contribute on behalf of my group 3kminaval, some shots of ships to share with friends Digital Seas.
And I think that was the best idea to do another account with this name, so there will be no misunderstandings, I climbed my group photos with all the innocence without considering that other members did not like, but now it is solved and I feel happy to do so.

I will continue contributing if time permits me dear shots along the quays of Vigo, and when you have the group also go up for the enjoyment of locals and foreigners, without distinction for the five continents and different races and creeds, but unite us in many things like this, love to photograph everything that floats in the sea.
Thank you

Your assumption was true, we reopend a new Hamburg Station this week and will have a third one in a couple days, so redundancy should be enough for better backup of missing signals.

Welcome again on Digital Seas! Thank you for opening a second account for uploading photos made by the 3kminaval group - this is a good and easy way.
Now all users can clearly see that these fine shots are legal uploads.

I have no reason to suspect that there is any error on the data on ISIDORE NONELL's Data page and that the vessel is still in Teneriffe and may be moored up with her ais off and did not sail on her expected date.We now have a excellent ais station in Teneriffe and I belive that if she had sailed from tenerife itb would have been reported.

Hi flyman,
Last report I can find is for 19th June when the vessel was reported as being at Rio Grande in Brazil.
It would appear that the vessel does trips on a regular basis between Rio Grande,Montevideo and Buenos Aires It would also appear that due to iregular AIS coverage in this region that on this route the vessel spends a considerable time 'invisible' to us

Regards

The thanks should be coming from us not from Stevo!
Stevo organised a great weekend for us all,he is a kind and generous host and made us all welcome in his country.
Unfortunately I was unable to attend on Saturday but so that I did not miss out on the expereience Stevo took the trouble to drive me all round Antwerp-to places only a local working in the shiping industry would know.
Stevo gave me a weekend to remember,I am indebted to him and look on him as a true friend.
I cannot, however finish without saying a heart felt thanks Ian and his wife with whom I spent a considerable time. All three of you made my weekend, after personal loss it was just the lift I needed.

Kindest Regards

Rob

PUBLIC APOLOGYI
In my previous post on this topic I included a screen shot of the tropo index for 10th July.
I later realised that I did not have the rights to include this data and have asked admin to remove the image,as I had missed the editing window for the post.

I apologise unreservedly to Mr William Hepburn for this breach of his copyright.

If any member wishes to view the tropo ducting forecasts for any region I would recomend that they visit Mr Hepburn's site The link is posted below

Output checks
Easy AIS receiver
Vtronix comercial omni AIS-73.3Nm REINBEK
Badlands custom 3 element Yagi 132.7Nm BW Columbia
Badlands Yagi +Garex preamp 132.7 Nm BW Columbia (no increase in distance but greater number of vessels detected)
Comar AIS-2-USB
Vtronix omni 72.6 Nm Bro Globe
Badlands Yagi 128.2 Nm BW Columbia
Badlands Yagi +Garex preamp 128.2Nm Bw Columbia (more hits)

These distances should be taken with caution as they are influenced by atmospheric conditions however it should be noted that the Yagi outperforms the Vtronix with both receivers. The Garex preamp does not improve on distance but picks up the weaker signals and thus shows more vessels.

Please note that I am not employed by any of the companiies mentioned nor do I recieve any financial gain or complimentry products. The Comar receiver was purchased by myself and the Easy AIS was provided by digital-seas,all antenae were purchased either directly from the manufacturer or their local distributor and have not been modified in any way

@AIS-split
Hi Sinisa,
I am off to the tall ships weekend tomorrow.
I will get some photographs together and send you these and full details of the new antenna when I get back.
I will use our personal email addresses,
PS I have also been trialing the Garex AIS preamp.
@jannuh
Hi jannuh,
Sorry I don't know your Christian name,
The likes of myself and AIS-split are mearly enthusiastic amateurs.I,.myself,am not in any way an expert in antenna systems however I am always comparing performance against a control,in this case a comercial Vtronix AIS omni.
I would add that whilst I am now a humble builder prior to my total change in career I was Chief Chemist to a UK manufacturer,so I am aware of scientific testing methods.I would agree with you that current conditions favour extended reception.
Maybe you can help us mere amateurs-am i wrong considering a directional antenna,my land station location favours a directional-should I consider a colinear;could you advise us of suitable types and manufacturers.
You see,to me,a remark such as 'testing should be done in a period without tropo ducting' without fuirther sugestions is actualy quite unhelpful !
